The Crew

I would like to introduce you to the ladies...
The big girl in the back is my go to gal and the little ones really get the job done in style when I travel.

The ladies

The big gal is a bernina aurora 440 and the little ones are vintage singer 221 sewing machines. Now I showed you mine.

The crew

What do you sew with ?

The only thing I can sew with are my two hands! That is a great pic of your ladies!

Mine aren't anywhere near as exotic as yours! I've got an Bernina 155, Brother QC1000 (which I love) and a little Janome Platinum which I take to class with me. I do have an ancient Singer in the loft, but that has probably seen its last days!

I sew with a 1940 66-16 Singer. Your gals are beautiful!

Funny you should ask! I just posted about asking for help in finding a machine, (and referred to you I must say). Still looking for the right portable, light weight, free form foot able, variable stitch length machine, under $250! Need I say more, ha ha. Riki

Hi Ruth,
now I'll have to inspect my little Singer for its number. Looks a lot like yours!
Enjoyed your class at AdornMe and am glad you're feeling better!
Til the next workshop, Martina

I use a Bernina Virtuosa 163 and a Brother Project Runway (Wal Mart $100 sews anything, only weighs 8 pounds! Even sews rust easily) and my hands. I love the Bernina but it is SO heavy! And sometimes she will not sew rust stuff...and I love rusty stuff!

I currently only have one machine, my Featherweight. I have to admit, if I don't need anything but a straight stich it is my go to machine! I have the buttonhole attachment so I can even use it for that!

I blogged about my most treasured possession~ Aunt Pearl's sewing machine

Don't know if blogger comments will make a link of the above text. (If not try copy & paste)

My main machine is a Viking Designer I that I absolutely love. I also have a very basic, very old Pfaff that is an absolute work horse, but I rarely use it any more.

How fun to see your tools of the trade.

I never learned to sew. My mother sent me to the house of two spinster ladies to learn, but after day two they figured I was a lost cause and taught me calligrapy instead. I've always been a little jealous of those who can sew.

I have a Singer 221 that had been my mothers. It was the machine I learned to make dolls clothes on. I was around 8. I'm now 50ish. I also have a Singer that I use for everyday sewing.

Gave my Singers to my kids and now I have 2 Janome's and 2 Bernina's and a HQ 16 for quilting. My 9 year old Grandson wants my Janome!
