I stand outside this woman's work.

When ever I work with old hand made lace
I always thank the hands that have came before my own...
I try to imagine the person who created it.
a few weeks ago at a flea market I found this zip lock bag full of a almost completed table runner, what intrigued me the most where the uncompleted pieces that were wrapped with threads.

Kate Bush wrote a song called "I stand outside this woman's work." and for some reason the words from her song came to me when making this piece.

I stand outside this woman's work.

I suppose I got caught up in the fact that Life goes on no matter if you want it to or not, that when things in life get complicated and hard it easy for us to think of what might have been...

"I stand outside this woman's work."
I stand outside this woman's work.
(stained and altered fabric sewn with vintage thread bobbin and a uncompleted piece of cotton crochet, vintage pin, nails and raw wood.)

We can never recover moments of our life back that is why its so important to
Live every day like its your last and without regret~

I stand outside this woman's work.

"I stand outside this woman's work."
by: Kate Bush

(here is a link to the song on youtube but I will warn you its sad.)

Pray God you can cope.
I stand outside this woman's work,
This woman's world.
Ooh, it's hard on the man,
Now his part is over.
Now starts the craft of the father.

I know you have a little life in you yet.
I know you have a lot of strength left.
I know you have a little life in you yet.
I know you have a lot of strength left.

I should be crying, but I just can't let it show.
I should be hoping, but I can't stop thinking

Of all the things I should've said,
That I never said.
All the things we should've done,
That we never did.
All the things I should've given,
But I didn't.

Oh, darling, make it go,
Make it go away.

Give me these moments back.
Give them back to me.
Give me that little kiss.
Give me your hand.

(I know you have a little life in you yet.
I know you have a lot of strength left.
I know you have a little life in you yet.
I know you have a lot of strength left.)

I should be crying, but I just can't let it show.
I should be hoping, but I can't stop thinking

Of all the things we should've said,
That were never said.
All the things we should've done,
That we never did.
All the things that you needed from me.
All the things that you wanted for me.
All the things that I should've given,
But I didn't.

Oh, darling, make it go away.
Just make it go away now.
