trying to touch ground

Life is a process...
We are a process...
The universe is a process...
~Anne Wilson Schaef

Finding time to create and nourish ones soul is not always as spontaneous as one would like.
It is after all a process~

4 weeks of traveling and being truly sick has beyond doubt taken a toll on me.

Joyfully I have mended and I am pulling myself together...
However no real time has been spent in my studio for almost 2 months...

part of me misses it, nevertheless part of me does not have a clue where to start...

What to pick up?
What to play with?
What to create?

Yesterday I started the task of unpacking my supply’s from my last few workshops.
Cleaning up my space is always a starting point for me.
It helps me to reconnect to my environment
and puts me on the right path...

Inviting ones self is part of the journey of ones life,
on the other hand reinventing ones self can some times be problematic process.
(who really is Ruth any ways?)

I sense a change draw closer to me but its still in a dormant state and has not fully exposed its self even to me...
I can feel it coming on almost like a growing pain of a child...
challenging but necessary.

I trust that by accepting this growth it prepares one to essentially open up and become enhanced as well as ready for change to take over and flower from with in.

One must always remain willing to allow the next ingredient in the creative progression to capture them.

We must never loose sight that we are a process...
and this life our art ~

It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

What I find confusing is that there are times when one needs to wait, and times when one needs to start working again because one's being avoidant...it's not always easy to tell the difference.

Hi Ruth

I hope you find a way to start again with the next phase, new challenges and fresh creativity. When I feel bewildered and don't know where to start, I just sit in my room with all my stuff around me and sort things into colours, inspiration soon comes ...

I thought of you this week. I have been natural dyeing with blueberries and got some beautiful coloured fabrics, gorgeous plummy mauves that reminded me of your work, have you tried it? I think you would love it. So easy to use, the dye is strong and fabrics don't need a mordant!

Best wishes to you.
