oh how I wish that my studio really was always this tidy!
most of the time you cant even see my floor! and my family wants to know where this room in the magazine is because there have never seen it at there house!
I really am a messy worker and tend to create until there is about a inch or so of free space on my table!
when I showed this page to my mother yesterday she said... "oh is this how you want your space to look?" and I said "it is my space!"
we had a BIG laugh!
Here is the view of my desk today with a few projects in the tinkering stage.
Thia small case that holds some jewelry that I am working on along with some inspiration and my mascot Mababo.
(African music is one of my favorite to create to and I have a very soft spot for music from Mali)
He looks over me.
this little red case holds some amazing lace that I picked up when I was in Portland, Oregon a few weeks ago (the burgundy scrim is hand dyed by the oh so lovely Penny!)
and a wee little assessable in the early stages.
I am not sure what it will turn into.
I hope you will pick up a copy of where woman create but for now you can view a slide show of my studio here

Congrats on the mag.
Sometimes you can make a mile out of an inch and see much more than in that inch than in a mile area.
KWIM?
TFS.

Love your space! Congrats on getting in the magazine. I just did the blog tour that My Desert Cottage hosted. And they only reason my Studio is clean, organized and tidy is because I have spend the last 3 days working on it! lol And I am still not done. heheheee
Artful Blessings,

I saw "The Book of Ruth" in Sew Somerset and just fell in love with your artwork. I look forward to seeing the new Where Women Create to check out where this beautiful book was created.
Oh sure, you said yours was going to be the true "ghetto studio" mess and all. I see you crumbled and cleaned everything up. Miss you but am glad you are feeling better.
SEND ME CARDS!!!

Can't wait to get it! Congratulations... I love your art!
oh wow, I think I'd have to pay a fleet of workers to clear the space. I work like that too, Ruth. But who ever questioned what Picasso's or Frida's studio looked like? right!!
Congratulations Ruth and what an awesome studio! I got my copy today and when I found you in there I read it first! What a fun place to go and play and just be!
