I have been surfing the web today cheeking out all the blogs and having so much fun that I have decided that I wanted to join in with the One World One Heart Blogger Event.

Photo

Take a look at Lisa Oceandreamer Swifka OWOH site, There you will find a long list of participants whom you can visit and maybe win a prize! This is a wonderful way to discover new blogs, and find new artists.

But one lucky winner can have there very own custom made poetry dress!

(This dress is 13 inches by 14 inches)

In order to be eligible to win your own custom poetry dress much like this one,
you MUST leave a comment
on
this post
with A poem, word or quoit
that you would like on your dress if you happen to be the lucky winner!

(please make sure your words are between 1 to 28 words)

When posting, be sure to include your email address on the body of your comment.

My contest ends on February 11th and only one entry per person. The winner will be announced on February 12th.

This is really lovely. If I were to win, I'd love these words on it:

Maternal love was kindled that sweet hour,
Burned deeper o’er the coming years replete.
Love multiplied sixfold drew greater power,
‘Til all her children flourished in its heat.

It's from a poem I wrote for my mother a few years ago.

Thanks!

Lovely! Please enter my name. I love Marge Piercy. These words from "Colors Passing Through Us" would be perfect, i think:

Hi - I would love to be included in the competition for the dress, it is so beautiful as is all your work. I wrote this simple poem:

Every day find time to love and hug
Every day find time to thank and praise
Every day find time to be creative
And happiness will find you all your days

I try to live by this philosophy, to count my blessings and make sure my family and friends know how much they are appreciated, as well as realising the importance of the creative outlet that all of us "artists" need!

I would also like to say "Good Luck" to everyone else who has entered this competition. There are some beautiful and inspiring words being quoted here

If I were the fortunate one to have my name drawn for this exquisite poetry dress, I would like for it to be embellished with a haiku poem I wrote about my oldest daughter:

27 dresses

Hung in your closet
Were 27 dresses
Tiny little frocks

my email is: autumnsensation@yahoo.com

Thank you for the opportunity.

If you have time, please stop by. I'm number 351 on the OWOH page.

Ruth, this is such a special giveaway...I love it! I have spent the last 45 minutes trying to figure out my favorite quote...there are so many! :-)

Through the highs and lows of my life I seem to always come back to the following Buddhist Proberb..."When the student is ready, the teacher will appear."...and you know what? I think it's true! I believe the secret is to keep your mind and heart open to learning new things...then you are always ready, right?

Thank you for offering your wonderful art to the world through OWOH...you are beautiful Ruth! Hugs, Carol

Butterflies of fascination alight

awakening destiny

A poem for this whole wonderful experience! to create something so exquisite as poetry dresses, they seem to etch the words into something more meaningful, like an antique memory to hold & cherish in the wearing..how dear & wondrous!

I love this
My late father wrote poetry and had many published. I'd like a part of one of his published peices on it if I win.

I never paint on canvas
the pictures that I see
I never have mere mortals
to sit and pose for me
I simply find my easy chair
when everything is quiet
and paint my pictures down in verse
While all alone at night.

If this is too much I could think of something shorter. I'd just love something of his on it!

Thanks for the chance to win!

How to find new words to tell you how lovely this is? After 200+ comments I'm not sure that I can. Oh to be a better wordsmyth! Because then the fantasy could be that the words would woo you into choosing me! But really, even if my name is not chosen, it makes me happy just to know that such a lovely pinafore exists. I am sure that it will go to a good home, and I can come back and visit your lovely creations on your blog (or in your book about charms, which I love!) whenever I want. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us! I feel silly asking but will you come and see my offering on my blog?

Oh! and, just in case, I've got to go with the Anais Nin quote: “And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” Now she was a wordsmyth. Cheers!
