poetry scarf's

I attended a bead show this weekend along with Kristen and Jenny .
I came home with some amazing stones.
Yesterday I had every intention to make jewelry today for Kim's
Market Soiree
were I will be selling on September 18th.

"Eden"

but somehow my sewing machine whispered my name.

I will fully admit that I spent some hard times with my machine yesterday as thread jams and stitch ripping was occurring much to my dismay that I got the clue and took the time to clean it throughout and oil it and all was well after that.
(sewing tip of the day: when all else fails CLEAN IT!)

I have been making these poetry scarves for almost a year, but they are just so hard to photograph that I have not really shared them...
this one has quoits from one of my favorite author Helen Keller.

"Helen Keller" Poetry Scarf

each one has so much stitching and because of the size its almost imposable to show the details and all the writing.

today I felt very cleaver as I came up with a new way to add a little more movement when wrapped around the neck with panels and flaps.

It Reads:
Once I knew only darkness and stillness...
my life was without past or future...
but a little word from the fingers of another fell into my hand that clutched at emptiness,
and my heart leaped to the rapture of living.

the second panel reads:

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt within the heart.
