Ties That Bind

"SEEK THE CURE"

September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month
.

Kelly was asked to create a charm for "ties that bind" 100% of the proceeds will go to support ovarian cancer research.
As soon as I heard that they were short charms, I offered to make one for the cause.

now I have been away from home for the last 3 weeks and over the last few days I have been trying to get back into the swing of things and found out that there was a blog for "ties that bind" and low and behold people were altering ties as part of the project!
I wanted to make a tie!
so I asked Jan if I could make a one and she said, yes!
and here is what I did:

Not to take the easy way out and alter a tie like a sane person would do, I went crazy dyeing and stamping fabric. (teal is the color that is associated with ovarian cancer)
Then I went on to construct my tie from scratch.

I machine stitched the tie to perfection with red thread.
Then added pearls and turquoise beads.

the tie reads:

Remember ALWAYS, time flies, laugh, live, CURE, love.

Fabulous work for an outstanding cause! I've scheduled a link to this post to go live on my blog this morning (Central USA time). I hope it brings you and the Ties That Bind project some extra clicks.
